Good planning makes good results. Decide what are your uses for this computer, gaming, specialized video, audio, educational, automation.
Here is a list to get you started.
1. | What do you plan to use your computer for. |
2. | Decide what inputs and outputs you will need. |
3. | Decide the capabilities you want. |
4. | Plan the Details. |
a. What connections you will need. | |
b. What amount of power, Example: amount of memory, CPU Speed/Cores, power needed for power supply. | |
c. Physical size, This will shape your final design. | |

I suggest you download and READ the manual of the Motherboard you select. It contains the construction details and selection criteria that will make these steps easier. Given your plan, it will tell how and what is needed to build your computer.
